How addictive are tattoos?

Hi to you all around the world from here in the UK!

The weather is improving (for now) so hopefully spring is coming!
I was having a discussion with one of the guys in my band on Saturday night about just how addictive tattoos are! Now, for the record he currently has more ink than me but I’m planning on catching him up!
If you’re addicted to tattoos then Tattoo Me Now is probably my favourite site; I’ll tell you more about it in a bit but if you want to have a look now then CLICK HERE to head over there.

Over the weekend I decided to see what other people thought about being addicted to tattoos and I found this really interesting article by Bruce Fields……………….

As a general rule, human beings tend to avoid pain and seek pleasure. Tattooing is known for being a bit painful. Conquering this fear can be exhilarating and can instantly result in one wanting more and more tattoos once they understand that they can handle the sensation. This can, however, get a bit out of hand. Tattoos are a form of art and, like any form of art, too much of a good thing ……….. You can read the rest of this article by CLICKING HERE!

On to my ‘addiction’ to tattoos! While my friend has more ink than me he doesn’t believe that tattoos are to addictive; his argument is that he gets tattoos done because he likes them, he spends loads of time researching designs in books and on the net and when he finds something he likes he gets the work done.

Now, while I understand that my view is slightly different; I know that when I get a new piece of work I instantly want more done. I look in the mirror in the morning and think to myself “I so want to add to that” or “What else could I get done” for a few weeks after having some work done I am constantly thinking about my next project. Then, when realisation kicks in that I can’t afford anything else for the moment it drags me down; I feel like I’m missing out, like I need that fix! To me those are the signs of an addiction!

I’d love to know your thoughts – are you addicted to tattoos? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!

Here’s how I quench my thirst for more ink when I know I can’t afford it; I try to spend time with a community of like minded people and the best site I’ve found to that on is Tattoo Me Now! It not only has one of the biggest gallery’s of ink designs out there, it has loads of great artists as well. But to top all of that it has a community forum that is 60000 people strong and growing!

You can get involved with so many different types of people and with discussions around your passion for tattoos (as well as discussing pretty much anything else as well!). It really does give you everything you could hope for in a tattoo design and community site!
